Communicare’s Tree of Light 2024

Communicare’s Tree of Light 2024

Communicare has launched its 16th annual Tree of Light campaign.

One of the beautiful pines in the Woolston Millennium Garden and a large, donated tree at St. Mark’s Church, Archers Road, will be covered in hundreds of sponsored Christmas lights to commemorate loved ones and special causes.

These will be lit up by Monday, December 2.

Sponsoring lights

By sponsoring the lights on Communicare’s trees, people can remember a lost loved-one or mark something special as we start the countdown to Christmas.

Each light also helps fundraise for the charity, which befriends people in our neighbourhood, as well as city-wide.

Its mission is to eradicate loneliness and isolation, which are becoming more and more of a problem across all generations.

Remembrance book

Anyone who would like to sponsor a light is asked to make a minimum donation of £8. The names of those being remembered will be recorded in a remembrance book and published on the charity’s website.

People can also send photographs, short poems/verses or a tribute for inclusion in the book.

Donations

Thank you in advance for supporting Communicare by sponsoring a light – every donation makes a big difference.

Switch on events

The charity will also have two, free, festive tree light-up events, one in Woolston Millennium Garden on November 30 and another at St. Mark’s Church, Archers Road on December 1.
