Communicare in Southampton’s new Bakery Venture
As a child I used to love rushing home from school to find that my Mum had that morning made and placed into the fridge to set, delicious, beautiful, tasty rectangular chunks of tiffin.
The raisins, golden syrup and thick layer of chocolate always whetted my tastebuds. Who here doesn’t love a big slice of tiffin?
Sadly 17 years ago, when I moved out of my parents’ home, the tiffin was no more. Despite me returning on occasions and checking the cake tins in hope, the tiffin had disappeared!
Don’t feel too sad for me. Back in April we had the privilege and joy to share with our wonderful volunteers and supporters the VERY EXCITED news that we the charity Communicare will be taking over a bakery!
We are purchasing a bakery in Shirley, Southampton. The bakery will be called: COMMUNIBAKES!
Why CommuniBakes?
If we can ask you to take your mind off your favourite cake for a moment. Let me share why we at Communicare are taking over this bakery:
- The profits we believe the bakery could make will go to Communicare to help continue and grow what we do in enriching the lives of lonely and isolated people in Southampton.
- This bakery has been successful the last 7 years, we believe we can build on this success due to the potential this bakery offers.
- We want to put cake at the heart of the community.
